So we have the dreaded exams coming up. I'm typing this right now while having my books scattered around me, my notebook opened to make an outline about a Pakistan Studies question. What happened was that I was looking on the internet for notes on this rubbish history that will never happen again.
I found nothing.
Anyway, I thought that maybe alot of people out there would be having their mid-term exams too. So I thought that I'd share some of my tips here., I mean, since I manage to scrape together a respectable grade with my failing Urdu.
When faced with all this revision, I try to make myself in the mood by writing out a plan. What do I need to study? What day? What topics? What should I do today? What about that Biology chapter? I never understand chemical calculations. To sum up- HELP!!
I always keep a spare notebook for it. It's also handy for doodling when you're day dreaming.
Yes. I also personally think that studying at night is better than studying in the day. During the day, there's always the bustle going on in the house. The maasi coming and going, cleaning going on, breakfast, clean up (if you're a girl) taking out the trash (if you're a guy). So much time gets used up. Plus, I don't even feel like studying in the morning.
So I prefer night. Not only is it nice and quiet, but my siblings are also asleep. So I basically have the house to myself. Although I go to sleep right at midnight. I mean, come on. I love my sleep. During school nights, I get tired at eight, so that's when my schedule shifts to waking up at Fajr. I'm also trying to start a routine of going jogging out with my parents in the morning. My mind wakes up then and I can study much better.
I also read this tip somewhere. Memory is associated with smell as well. Thats when a load of perfume, hand sanitizers and lotions come in handy. Before studying, apply the thingy whereever you're supposed to apply it. (Lotion on hands, sanitizer on hands, perfumes on clothes, you get the point-). And then study. Your brain would tag the memories with the scent. Then right before the exam, apply the lotion etc again. It should jog your mind awake.
I've tried this trick a little. For Physics mostly. I got an A that month. Do you need any more proof? I plan to use this as my last resort anyway. When I have a final list of concepts I need to revise seriously (like memorizing those quotes for Islamiat) I'll bring out my big guns.
I just thought I'd share this so that maybe someone out there who is panicking about the exam for which they have no idea about what to do could find out what I'm doing. YAAAY!
I found nothing.
~ What the hell. This is supposed to be the World Wide Web. Are you telling me no braniac could bother writing about this crap?~
~It's not that I don't try. I mean, would you want to bother trying if the teacher kept failing you? I hate being failed. So I'm going to keep failing...~
~Oh help me... This stuff is poison! It should be banned by International Law!!! WHERE ARE US SANCTIONS WHEN YOU NEED THEM?!?!?!?!~

~I mean, look at them. They might look innocent and all, but... Yeah... I'm sure every oldest sibling knows what I'm talking about... :) ~
