MY EID

I'd like to start by saying EID MUBARAK to everyone. Regardless of who you are, how much Eidi you get, whether you get Eidi or not, how crisp your Eidi might be or how many people forgot to give you Eidi, today is a day of celebration and most of all, a day of thanksgiving. Having fasted a whole month, that is thirty days, we seek Allah's forgiveness and His Pleasure in the good deeds we have done this past month.

It doesn't mean you can crank up your radio and start watching Indian flicks. NOOO. That's a no no.

Now, I don't want to start on a sermon or anything. I'm just going to tell you about my Eid. And my Eid did start with a sermon, sort of. We went to Faisal Masjid to offer our Eid prayers, me my father and brother. Now Faisal Masjid is huge. Very very big. And it's also very popular. It's where all the high class dudes go, you know, the lawyers, the judges the etc and etc. So obviously, if we wanted to find a place, we had to go early, so we went about an hour early.

The sermon was okay. Mostly about how people with debts are the most "muflis" people because regardless of their good deeds they'd go to Hell since they have abused people's rights. Now if Zardari had really been in Faisal Masjid at that time, I would have said, HOW IRONIC! Since the imam repeatedly said, "jo log awaam se qarza lete hen... Jo log AWAAM se qarza lete hen!"

(I don't know how many times he said it. Maybe he said it only twice. But that thing got stuck in my head and this is MY perspective I am talking about, for all those who were present at the lecture)

Anyway, then we had the Eid prayer, which is sort of confusing. The imam says "Allahu Akbar" a couple of times and there WERE a few people who thought that meant you go into the next position, not do the raising hands thing again.

So by the time the Takbirs finished and the imam began reciting a surah, some people had finished one rakah. I however was copying what the lady beside me was doing. To my embarassment, she messed up in the second rakah and that made me mess up too. But at least I caught myself and went back to the standing position. (^.^)

The prayer ended, the dua ended and THEN began the fight to get out. Since I was alone, I had no reason to stick around therefore I went to the arena too and shuffled along. I will never understand WHY people push. I  mean, DUDE, I am standing still cause the lady in front of me is old and I wanna let her go first. But noooo, the fat lady behind me is going to push and push. I understand if she pushes for the first few seconds but when I (just to annoy her) stand still for half a minute (to see what she'd do) she just keeps pushing. But as soon as the old lady got her way, I kept moving.

Next, at the bottleneck door, I didn't have any old ladies to watch out for but I still wanted to see how uncivilised people could get. So once I again I decided to stay in my place for a moment. This other lady kept pushing me with her elbow, but me, the dheet insaan refused to move and gently pushed back. She got fed up after a while and moved her elbow away from me. How kind of you, Auntie.

After THAT, I got my shoes and started the trek back to the entrance where I was supposed to meet up with my dad and brother. Surprisingly, even though this is a masjid and is supposed to be religious and all, there's total free-mixing. So I had to dodge around ALOT of guys. ALOT. I was like, whaaat, must I get THIS experience in a masjid? This is where I least expect this sort of thing! But oh well, I got to the entrance, walking barefoot across the wet marble and got there.

Now the entrance (for ladies) has a big sign that says "KHAWATEEN KE LIYE". You don't say, huh? Well, then why's that dude jumping to and fro the exit? And what's with that group of guys on this side? Can you not read? KHAWATEEN KE LIYE. I think the authorities should draw the lady symbol on the board too, the same symbol you have on the ladies bathroom. Hopefully THEN the men would understand.

Anyway, I was thinking about standing there and reading the sign out loud, but then I was like, naaah, don't have the guts so I'll just scoot past the jumping around dude. And seriously? When I passed the security check, he slipped in from the opposite direction at the same time. What the whaaa. (I'm sorry if this sounds biased or something. I amn't a feminist, but it DOES get annoying when this happens)

So now I caught up with my dad and brother and we were heading for the car park when the beggars dropped in. God, it was like they dragged in the freakshow. Every single gruesome type of handicap was presented. There was a man with half his face melted. It seriously looked like it melted and was dripping off the side of his face. Seriously! His hair was where his ear should be and ear where the neck should be. It was freaky so I turned to look at something else, but that was a guy lying on the ground with his crutch and deformed legs.

Right after the Eid prayer? Ruins it.

With all the security around the masjid, the authorites should take care of thes things. And I can't understand how badly deformed the beggars get. It's not like we accidentally set off an atomic bomb in Islamabad, what's with all you people? And if you guys do this on purpose with your wierdo methods and helped by your crazy mafia people, then that's sad!

Seriously, how low do you expect these beggars to stoop? On Eid especially? That is just SAD.

Keep calm and hope for Eidi.

First of all, a very happy Eid Mubarak to you all and now i shall begun with my Eid rant.

Eid is suppose to be a day of celebration for Muslims after their 1 month long fast during Ramadan but there is no such thing as celebration at my place. We wake up, clean the whole house and then wait for guests which aren't many, only my two uncles and that's it. Then we roam around the house lazily and Abu, tired of waking up so early goes to bed. Then it's us and the telly or the computer. Then at night we visit my Dadi's place and that's pretty much it.

The worst thing is that i don't get any Eidi. I only get Eidi from my Abu and very rarely from my Aunts and Uncles 'cause they often forget to give it or probably they don't want to part with all the new notes. I bet it's my latter reason which is correct. In the past years, someone would pass every year thus, my Aunts and Uncles got an excuse to escape from the Eidi ritual. But since a couple of years, none of such tragedies has happened and even then my Eidi doesn't exceeds one-thousand rupees, which sucks because i don't earn and i need money badly to buy some books for myself.

Then, i don't have any party type cousins even. My father's side cousins are all above twenty-five and their only interest is in taking photos of themselves while they pose with duck faces. My mother's side cousins are all younger than me and they would prefer talking about One Direction and the Disney celebs over having some actual fun. So whenever i see people uploading the Eid parties photos with their cousins on Facebook, i feel very miserable.

Then there is all the sweet stuff!  Since it is Eid-ul-Fitar, which is also known as the Meethi Eid, sweet stuff is made in large amounts and served to every single guest. I don't like sweet stuff. In fact i hate everything related to it which includes sheer korma, suwaiyan and etc. So when i visit people on Eid, i sit their quietly with an empty plate while people munch all the sweets happily.

The only thing which i like about Eid is Mehndi. Mehndi is love. Even though i don't have anyone to apply it on my hands which is not nice as i am horrible at applying mehndi but oh well you can't get everything you wish for.

GoodBye all of you!

Pakistan

Sixty-five years old Pakistan talks about his devoted people who started out from scratch in the midst of the sudden increasing burden of people, drought, political imbalance, with almost no army and most of all a part of his one thousand miles away with in between a hostile country. He reminisces about how it got a steady pace even though blows frequently given through misguided leaders or the world in general pushed him ten years back from eventual success.

Pakistan has a lot to talk but what he talks most about is the fact which most of us tend to look over, yes, unity. Pakistan constantly talks about unity. He actually teaches us about unity through every single incident he has gone through. What Pakistan has taught me is that once united with my people, we would have everything we need.

Pakistan tells me that once there was a minority group in a huge sub-continent, constantly being crushed through the super powers around it but instead of fighting each other, this group paved its way to the eventual success in the memorable 1947 just because the group’s people were united.
Pakistan also speaks to me in his smooth tone about how once this group of united people, now a nation actually, broke the unity band and let go of the East Pakistan in 1971. He talks about how brother turned on brother and how it was no different from the violence of 1947. Pakistan weeps on the loss of unity but what was left of the nation rose again, giving him joyous moments back.

‘His nation,’ Pakistan speaks in a whisper to me, ‘stumbled and balanced itself once and it will do again.’ I awestruck, ask him that is he too old to notice the atrocities which he has been plunged into? He laughs a grandfatherly laugh and replies, ‘There is good among the ‘atrocities’. Everywhere in small bands are my united people who are slowly fighting their way into becoming a united nation once again.’ Pakistan says that I have to believe in myself and that I should try to keep people around me united. Pakistan tells me to spread this message to every one of his people because there is a sunrise after every night and the Pakistani nation has to just attain it by being united.

Independence Day

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

So its 14th August and everyone is all happy with their cool green badges and flags and maybe t-shirts and most of them are probably even more super happy that Independence Day happpened during Ramzan and that's a sign that Pakistan is on its way to a better road.

Not that I'm not supporting Pakistan on its way to that better road.

One of my friends put to me this very interesting question and I thought I'd share it and give my own answer to it. WHAT CHANGES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE IN PAKISTAN???

I live in the city, so I'm not about to hand over a reason that doesn't concern me at all, for example "More literacy in the rural areas!" because I don't really think that would make ME happy or make ME "like'" it. So I'm just going to give you my own self-centered selfish changes. Ahem.

Not that I don't support educating the people in rural areas.

So first of all, I would like to start with providing facilities. Facilities include proper bathrooms, particularly in shopping malls and centers because it gets really annoying when your little sibling says "I have to go!" and you can't find a bathroom anywhere and end up going home. Seriously, this must be the major reason for the loss of consumers, because once you get home, you don't really feel like getting up again.

But facilities also include libraries. I would love to have libraries in my cities. Not just one library, but lots of libraries and all of them coordinated, the way are in America. And not a lousy library that is in a small house but a library like this-

~Yes this library exists. I've been here~

Infact, it should be government run. What do they have to lose? People love libraries and happily donate their books to this noble cause. Instead of setting up literary clubs that you only hear about and magazines that talk about new books, we should have a library that actually DOES something. And a library doesn't have to be just for reading. It can also be for educational events for the community or entertainment programs like plays or dramas. I'm telling you, this is something that will give plenty in return. (Somebody tell Islamabad's mayor to do us a favor and start a Library Project, if we have a mayor)

So that's something I think Pakistan should introduce which I would like very much.

What else? Well, I wouldn't mind the renovation of theme parks. Or these rides that are supposed to be theme parks. See, in Pakistan, we have rides that look like they're about to fall apart if too many people get on.

~This is supposed to be a roller coaster. I flatly crossed out all prospects of riding and coming out alive~

~This looks a bit more safer. I mean, if one of the chains DO break apart, you'd stll be close to the ground and won't get hurt. unless you look up and another horse slams into your head~

I mean, this is seriously dangerous. And what would happen if someone does get hurt?

~Compare with earlier picture of a roller coaster~

~A merry go round with horses~

I'm not saying that Pakistan sucks or anything. I'm just comparing. And now I am realizing there's really no point in comparing a Third world to a First world. So I'll just quit it with the pictures and move on to what else I want to see in Pakistan.

I wouldn't mind seeing some better schools. Maybe more electricity because these power outages are rather annoying.

One more thing. People drive SO SLOW that it is crazy. When you have stopped at a signal, it takes about ten seconds for the first car to see that the light is now green and to move forward. So there goes ten seconds of our lives that we'll never get back. Speaking of the road, it's a daily occurance to see beggers, so much so that it has become quite normal.

Why?! Why are there so many beggers? It's annoying. Most of them look pretty good to me and should be working somewhere, but nooo they find walking around in the street, getting rejected seventy five percent of the time much more fun. The government should do something because these people don't make our roads look too good.

That's all I can think of right now. Do you have any suggestions?

I end at this sidenote.

An Ode to EMS

~Class photo with the school sign board~

When I came to Islamabad, the school I got admission in was EMS High School which is located in the F10 and F11 districts of the Capital. Before THAT I went to AIMS which is a pretty religious type of school They offer to make your child a hafiz and even if you don't want to be a hafiz, you still have to take after-school classes till six on fixing your Nazra or recitation. I kind of liked the buildings a bit since it was really big, but then I decided to go check out the bathroom (how typical of me) and I was really shocked. Again. Just those traditional flushes and even those weren't exactly the best. And so I made a flat out no and rejected that school. I mean, if you're supposed to stay in school from eight in the morning to six in the afternoon, then please, provide facilities that we can actually use!

When I walked into EMS, I didn't really know what to think. It was kind of small, much smaller than Generation's School, which is super huge in North Nazimabad, Karachi. The administration also asked me to take a an admission test. This admission test, which was three hours long, was something to remember. It was the first time I ever gave a paper like that and I was totally shocked. Flipping page after page after page and finding thirty six pages in total caused me to panic and do everything in a rush to get out of there.

~Enters exam room with optimistic attitude~

~Leaves examination room with a 'that didn't go so well....'~

And I got what I deserved I guess, failing in Mathematics, even though I was average in it.

School for me started after summer whereas the term begins a month before summer, which surprised me and didn't seem to make much sense to me. That is, the final term exams are usually in March or May and last about two weeks and then the new year starts in June. THEN you get your summer break. Meaning I missed out a whole month of studying. (Not that I was sad about it or anything. I mean, I was actually kind of happy)

From fragmented memories, I recall it was raining the first day and all the girls were inside. I got introduced and I dimly recall that Mossi was the one who talked to me first. I was seated with another new girl and although I tried to get along, it didn't really work out when she kept following me to an extent that I started trying to throw her off. =___=

That was class eight. Lots of things happened which included the PakTurk Maths Olympiad in which I came 18th and won Rs500. Then the unpleasant calculator incident and the Khewra mines fieldtrip. The perpetual wars with the guys of O2 to get a chance to play ball on the ground were also memorable. Whenever we got to play, I used to just be the defender on one side and chat the whole game with the goalie who was usually Maryam, and the other defender, Laiba. Everytime the ball came this way, Maryam would kick it and it would go soaring over the whole ground and straight back towards the opposing goal. And then we'd start chatting again. In the heat of the game, Laiba or Asifa would throw in a kick and her shoe would go flying in the other direction.

Then came the start of our O Level with the boys joining our class too. We also had to say farewell to some of our slassmates who were off to do matriculation which wasn't being provided from our school that year. The teachers were mostly new, being the O Level staff and they tried getting us to study and do well, constantly pushing and reminding us, scolding and attempting to get us serious.

But there were really good memories too, like the science exhibition, the farewell, the field trips and everything, even the fights for a once-a-year chance to have a sports class. Even when we had an election in our school and our class, which is the senior most, didn't get to put up candidates for head girl or head boy, Mahnoor pooled in the idea of having our own election, just to see who would get the most votes. Well, obviously most votes were directed at abusing the candidate running for headgirl. Others were most gracefully casted several times in the caster's own name. But the day was carried away by a single boy who got seventeen votes as compared to the highest of five or six (most of which the dude casted himself). And this guy was running for Principal. So he sort of got scolded by our homeroom teacher for indirectly challenging school authority and had to change the Principal to Vice-principal.(Not that he got it)

But in the end I would like to say that these years have definitely been memorable, whether it was something silly, or funny or stupid or aggravating. I just hope that we ALL cherish these memories and maybe, ten years later, meet up and laugh it off, lawl.

~Definitely memories to remember.... (^.^)/) ~

Date: Friday, 3rd August 2012
Time: 11:47 AM
___________________________

ME- (Okay, so are you there?)

L- (Yeah, sorry. Ran out of battery)

ME- Alright! Introduce yourself!

L- Hey, I'm Lalarukh and I have currently done O levels and will be starting A levels InshaAllah

ME- Good job! What are your hobbies?

L- Reading, baking, yeah that's about it.

ME- You mentioned reading. What types of books or genres do you particularly enjoy?

L- Umm, well I don't really read specific genres, I read all types or anything I find interesting.

L- Mind if I ask why we are doing this?

ME- I'm taking your interview. I ask the questions here.

ME- Anyhow, what are your plans for your career?

L- Well, I have not yet planned anything for my career yet. I will do that when the time comes.

ME- Okay, so generally speaking, what makes you happy?

L- Chocolate I guess.

ME- And what makes you sad?

L- That is a very good question to which I unfortunately do not have an answer to. What I can say is that I'm all smiles. :)

ME- What element of nature portrays you best, in your opinion?

L- Fire

ME- Why is that? Could you elaborate?

L- I have zero tolerance and so get frustrated pretty quickly.

ME- And that relates with which aspect of fire?

L- (Are you kidding me? Figure it out yourself!)

ME- (Why should I figure it out?) Okay, what in your opinion is your best quality.

L- Ah, I don't know.

Me- What in your opinion is the best quality you would like to see in your friends?

L- Trust

ME- Who or what is your ideal/ideals.

L- Ahhh

ME- ???

L- I'll have to think about it.

ME- (You  have five minutes. Text when you're done)

L- (I''ll tell you later, carry on)

ME- (No way, you'll forget then)

L- (Exactly, carry on!!)

ME- (You'll forget to answer the question. I'm not moving till we're done!)

L- (Come on please? I don't want to answer this question)

ME- (Why, what's wrong with it? Your ideal isn't Justin Bieber is it?)

L- (Hafsa, you're kidding me right? He wouldn't have even made it on the list if I had one!)

ME-(Then tell me. Else I'll write Stephen, what's his name.....Stephen Damon)

L- No Hafsa, no

ME- (What's his last name? It was spanish right. I'll go google it and then write it muhaha)

ME- Next, have you ever thought of a better you?

L- (Hafsa, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!) Yes I have.

ME- (What???) Okay, so could you describe this "better you"?

ME- (SALVATORE! I remember! It's STEPHEN SALVATORE!!!)

L- (Don't you dare put his name! And ugh! You're supposed to have pathetic memory!! Someone's been eating badam!!) I would be more polite, less rude, patient, wouldn't answer back...

ME-(Nope. Nopsie. I just kept thinking and then remembered. :P) So what exactly are your major flaws in your character?

L- (Impossible!!) Umm, well I don't have tolerance, I'm rude and I answer back.

ME- (Possible. So I'll just write Stephen AND Damon) Alright, your A Levels are about to come to a start. What are you looking forward to?

L- (Hafsa, if you do that, I will hack your facebook and write I LOVE JUSTIN BIEBER as your status) Nothing much

ME- (Theek hai.. *shrugs*) What okay. So your O Levels came to an end. Sum it up nicely.

L- (I'm not kidding) It was fun.

ME- (Karlo. Mujhe kia. I'm already a member of a Justin Bieber hater group so obviously nobody would believe that status) =____= Is that all you have to say regarding your O levels?

L- (Ugh, why do you hafta be so mean?) What do you want me to say?

ME- (lawl, phir batao na. Tell me dude). Okay, so from recent conversation etc you said that you haven't gotten over EMS yet. Coming from Headstart, what makes you say so?

L- (kia bataon? What do I say?) What does Headstart have to do with this?

ME- (Your ideal. Who is your ideal) Umm, because it must have been a better school with regard to building etc. Hey, I'm speaking from personal experience!

L-(does everyone have to have an ideal?) Well, to tell you the truth, it's just an excuse so people just shut up and stop bugging me as to where I've applied for A Levels.

ME-(Yes, everyone)

L- Okay, I got it. I Am MY IDEAL!!

ME-That's dumb!!

L-It's original!!

Me-Yeah right!! >__<

ANNA- Oh, um okay sure (XP)

ME- Arigato (Thank you). So I'll ask you, what are your hobbies?

ANNA- Well, using the internet, listening to music, reading manga and watching anime, talking with friends, tumblr lol. Nothing much actually.

ME_ That's quite alot actually. :3 (We seem to have lots in common :P)

ME- What are your plans for your career?

ANNA- I either want to be a teacher or a nurse, military wife/join military HAHA kidding. I don't think that's possible (DX) or a rockstar wife (OTL)

ME- What makes you happy? Generally speaking?

ANNA- Hm, my parents, my brother (occasionally), FT Island, my friends, my dog, manga, anime, Japanese movies, Korean dramas, and pretty things in general. (X])

ME- (Oh, you're also a Korean drama fan? Nyce!) And so what makes you sad?

ANNA- The thought that my parents are getting older and weaker, concerts I won't attend, people said and that I can't do anything about it (:/) and fights in general.

ME- (That's deep) What element of nature do you tink portrays you best and why?

ANNA- Well, I'd say water because I'm not set on anything and I'm easily influenced by others? LOL if that makes any sense

ME- No no, very sensible :) . What in your opinion is your best quality?

ANNA- Maybe the fact that I could easily occupy myself with the internet, manga, boy bands and shows and not feel the need for going out with friends LOL

ME- Okay, what qualities would you like best in your friends?

ANNA- The ability to stick with me, listen to me no matter how wierd or creepy I am, accepting and being understanding, and funny of coarse and I appreciate randomness lool

ANNA-What do you mean? o:

ME- Um, Ideal. Your role model. Someone you want to be like, Eg. Justin Bieber.

{Personal note- Very different response to Justin Bieber lawl XP}
ME- That's fine. Have you ever thought of a BETTER YOU?

ANNA-Of coarse, I've always wanted to be more sociable

ME- Okay, thanks! Anyway, are you really in Hong Kong? (It says in your description)

ANNA- Oh, lol noooo xD

ME- Cool!! (I used to live in Florida :3) Anyhow you read Annarasumanara. Whar did you like about it?

ANNA- Hmm, it was different and pretty creepy to me idk xD. Especially Deung (the main guy character) but when he changed, he was adorable. I liked its uniqueness I guess. The art was also beautiful and it was a sweet story with the follow dreams moral. (You used to live in Florida? Did you move recently? o;)

ME- (Yeah I did. I lived there for like eleven years and then moved to Pakistan) What was the first manga/anime that got you hooked?

ANNA-(Oh, cool!) Lol, well 2007 I was pretty obsessed with Inuyasha and Eureka Seven so then I decided to try out manga!

ME- I see! Well that's it for the interview. I'll send you the link when I'm done. It was fun interviewing you. Have a nice day!

ANNA- Same to you! X]

Interviewing~ Yukino Wakui

AoA and Good Day to you! I thought I'd add this little project thing for absolutely no reason other than to get some experience on interviewing people. And of coarse the first person I turned to was my amigo, my buddy, my pal, my tomogachi, my partner, Yukino Wakui!! (Not real name) (^.^)

Anyhow, I shall start~

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Date: Thursday, 2nd August 2012
Time: 7:33 PM
___________________________

ME- Good evening Yukino Wakui, I'm going to take your interview!

~Huh, out of the blue...??? Oookay!~

ME- (Things not included in this interview must be in brackets, okay?) What are your interests in life?

YUKI-My interests in life in what category?

ME- Okay, let's narrow this down... Your interests in life regarding your hobby, etc...?

YUKI- (Is it for your video?)

ME- (nope)

YUKI- (Dude, so many things. Going to take some time to think)

ME- (Okay, you have five minutes) (text when you are done thinking)

YUKI- Elaborate your question more to simplify the thinking process :)

ME- Okay. What are your hobbies?

YUKI-Playing outdoor games, reading, making stuff, testing, talking alot like an idiot :) and other
stuff.

ME-Yosh!! We're getting somewhere!!

ME- You mentioned outdoor games, reading and making stuff. Could you tell me what games you
play, what genres you read and what things you make?

YUKI- Football, badminton, maybe skip the rope, runninng. Genres are comedy, investigation type, fantasy and I make stuff like food and jewelry. :)

ME- Very interesting! So what are you planning to do, like, any career plan?

YUKI- Well, doctor now. A future in MBBS

ME- (What happened to IR? {International Realtions})

~Nope, no IR. That went down the drain. Now I'm gonna be a doctor!!~

ME- Right, so tell me. What makes you happy? A general response please.

YUKI- My stupid response my bf :P but generally talking to me friends and anything in general that is funny.

ME- (:P at stupid response) And what makes you sad?

YUKI-Fights, no network coverage, no net, not meeting my friends for a long time, result date.

ME- Alright! So you're writing a book, The Story of a Rose. Could you give me an introduction? Where do you get your ideas from?

YUKI- Well, the first chapter was crap so I turned the idea down mainly because it was a mixture of anime and mangas, so now I'm writing it new which has some of my own ideas and stuff but the idea from a manga remains as the sole ida to portray a tough girl :)

ME- What element of Nature do you think describes or portrays you best?

YUKI- Well, I don't know, ask my friends.

ME- What in your opinion is your best quality?

YUKI-Good advising I think, or no, that's mean of me. Ask someone else, they would know best.

ME- What in your opinion is the best quality you would like to see in your friends?

YUKI- Honest and stick with you through thin and thick and well, not disband, and all be together
and close.

ME- Who or what is your ideal(s)?

YUKI- In friends?

ME- Ideal as in role model. Could be anyone, eg Justin Bieber.

~Justin Bieber? You gotta be kidding me~

YUKI- (-____-) Well, my mum and the Prophet, any inspiring personality.

ME- Have you ever imagined or thought of a "Better You"?

YUKI-Yeah, loads of times.

ME- Could you describe this "Better You"?

YUKI- Well, not short-tempered, friendly, helpful, sacrificial, and other flaws to be bettered.

ME- Honestly speaking, what are your majort flaws in your character/personality?

YUKI- Short tempered, not that sacrificial, like to be left alone, like to always take a person to be
good and trust everyone and not take them to be bad.

ME- Your A Levels are about to start. What are you looking foward to?

YUKI- A good group of friends and awesome time, tougher studies and nice moments. :)

ME- (Final question) Sum up your O Level years.

YUKI- O Level? Well, they were full of drama, ups and down but pulled through. :)

ME- That's it? Just two lines? Longer dude!!

YUKI- That's enough from my part :P

ME- Okay. THANK YOU. Now I'll send you the link when I'm done.

YUKI- Cool

My Summer Trip~ Part 4

Day four of my trip to

THE NORTHERN AREAS
~Plenty of people living there... (^.^) ~

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

(^.^)/)
DAY FOUR
17th July, 2012
Tuesday
-------------------
Today we started our jorney back towards Islambad. So we travelled back to Dir and got our Corolla Altis back and then kept going until we reached the Swat district.

My mother really wanted to see Swat which is a pretty famous place in the Northern Areas. More specifically, we were going to Bahrain (not the country, the city town type thing) which is on the route to Kalam. But to get to Bahrain, we passed by Mingora first.

On the way to Mingora, it was already past noon so we stopped to have lunch at a roadside resteraunt/cafe type of thing.

~Habib Cabana Hotel. It was NOT a hotel, I'm telling you. I don't know WHAT definition of 'hotel' would include this place... ~

Moving on, Mingora is where a friend of mine lives. She goes there at almost every vacation and just like this summer, she was in Mingora too. She told me that Mingora is a really nice place, but from the road we apparently went on, it seemed to be a never ending bazaar. With the car moving at around fifteen miles an hour, it was certainly rather boring.

After that, we kept on going on that road looking for Bahrain. With our single road ometimes branching into forks, we DID take the wrong road once or twice, but after asking the locals we got right back on track.

Except it didn't really feel right. The road just kept on going endlessly, the mountains getting closer and the river still beside us but we barely seemed to be getting anywhere. Did Bahrain even exist? If so, why weren't we getting there? Apparently, some folks said, just a little further! The sign says, 'Welcome to Madyan'. Some random dude says 'Bahrain??'. And we say 'Are we there  yet?'.

But we reached there finally and checked into the hotel. Again, the first thing I did was run in and check the bathroom and again I was seveely disappointed. So much so I went and said 'I'm naraz' because it was sooo unfair. I mean, if you have fancy shmancy hotel, please!! Bathroom!! But I had to get used to it.... (=____=)

So we ordered some tea and after that we went to check out the river.

~This picture makes it look much better. Otherwise....~

Second thing that sort of messed up the trip. There are guys EVERYWHERE. So much so, I was starting to think that maybe females were another specie of humans that got extinct here. And that me, my sister and mom were the only specimens around.

When I say guys everywhere, I mean literally everywhere. The place was jam packed. Whether it was tourists or locals, they were all guys! And that gets really awkward and we couldn't do anything and just went back to our hotel and spent the rest of our time there.

DAY FIVE
18th July, 2012
Wednesday
-------------------
Today we set out back home to Islamabad.

We go on the Motorway.

And bought ice cream to eat.

And then got home.

The moment we stepped out, the thig to note was that there was super big temperature difference where we just came from and where we are headed. Islamabad is really hot compared to the North!!

We were all really tired. So then we came home and just relaxed.

The end

And that is the last of my writing regarding my summer trip.

Wassup?

Yesterday was my first day at school of Grade 11, the start of my last year. Finally. We got stuck in a traffic jam and thus, i arrived late. Haha. The assembly was long and boring and everybody was fidgeting while Her Highness talked and talked. Then we went to our classrooms and we got the SAME classroom we had in grade ten. I wanted to bag one of the desks in the front row because then i could concentrate more on what was being taught but my friend wanted to sit in one of the back rows so i had to as well. But i changed my place to the original one again today so it's okay, although i am now sitting alone. But i think i should give this year to my studies only now because distractions have started to suck.

The day seemed long and boring even though the home time was at 12.30. We didn't studied a thing so it was basically pointless opening the school so early. Then we went home. And that's pretty much it.My First Days usually suck a lot. And this one was no different.

I just hope that this last year of mine is friendly and nice towards me as grade ten wasn't. I hope that grade eleven only contains sun shiny moments rather than dark ones which i have had enough of. And that there is a reduced amount of drama. Please be nice to me, Grade Eleven.

When i get hold of camera.

Hello, people.

I got a new camera recently and i decided to try my hand in photography. So i took some photos and edited them and they kind of look impressive which makes me want to share them with you all. They aren't extraordinary or anything, only simple closeups of stuff in my house and plants so don't get your hopes too high. Okay? Okay.

Because rain is always beautiful.

This is my sister's eye. Haha.

Oh look, ants!

Random lyrics i write everywhere.

This one is my best shot and it isn't even edited.
I like this one too.

This is one of those rare days when it drizzled in Karachi.

This is a fun thing which me and my sister came up with. Tehe.
Now the biology books on the bed are luring me towards them. And i can't say no. So i guess i gotta go.

Ba-Bye, Bay-Bees :D
Loads of love from Kashaf Channing Tatum.

My Summer Trip~ Part 3

Let's continue this 'My Summer Trip' thing, where I tell you about my journey to

THE NORTHERN AREAS
~Lots of good places for white water rafting if you ask. Congo River Rapid style!!~

Do we need another recap? Alright! We left Islamabad Saturday morning and reached Darosh at 6 in the evening to spend the night. On Sunday morning, we left to go to the Kalash Valley, or the Valley of the Kaafirs. From there we headed off to a place close to Chitral to spend the night.

DAY THREE
16th July, 2012
Monday
-------------------
Today we had to wake up a bit early to go on towards the actual Chitral, so we set off around nine in the morning and spent two hours in the red Prado to get there.

~Scenery on the way~

What was 'there'? There was the school that my father was working in. So while he went off to his official business, we went to an acquaintance's home.

If there's anything that messed up my journey, it was the state of the bathrooms. I don't know HOW these Northern people got their hands on cable and dishes and internet cafes and NOT on the proper toilets and bathrooms. It's plain wierd. Like, dude, if you want to make yourself modern and updated, update your bathroom first, then move to entertainment.

You can laugh all you want. But I have serious issues with bathrooms. On past trips, I used to just shake my head and say 'NO, I want a proper bathroom'. At a hotel? First thing I do is check the bathroom and it it's not okay, I'm going to ask if we can get another hotel, but that's hard to say when you're at someone's house and you know they can't supply it, a proper toilet or a sink. So I tried not to break down and cry about this unfairness. (My parents told me to get used to it cause more situations like this were on the way)

Anyway we stayed until around three and then we headed out (carrying lunch with us) to a place near the river where there were fish farms etc and we could eat and try a hand at fishing.

~I guess you can slightly make out me (yellow and white ghost lady on the lake)~

We ate lunch and then trie fishing. Fishing is much harder than it looks. First of all, fishing in a fish farm means that there will be tons of fish there, no matter what. Then, when you put the bait down, they will eat it in a flash and then leave you with an empty hook for all your kindness of giving them a free meal.

~Look, the fish of the fish farm!! Does it look tasty?!~

~My father is helping my little brother fish!~

The fish were kind of small so no fun in catching and cooking. Very small. Theycould just fit in your fist. So I guess you could only make a fish nugget out of them.

~See those two fish? My sister and I murdered them~

Okay, when I mean murder, I don't mean that we just accidentally threw them out of the water and they flopped and drowned in air. What happened was that maybe we pulled too hard and the hook got stuck somewhere in their mouths, so when we tried to take it out, it umm, ripped their internal organs? And so they couldn't really live? And so we left them to drown in air.

The day ended with my obsessing over bathrooms. I was planning on bringing a bulldozer and a construction company and fixing this problem myself. Of coarse, I'll leave some of the traditional toilets alone if these northern people like it so much. I'm very considerate.

My Summer Trip~ Part 2

Here's my account of the second day of my trip to

THE NORTHERN AREAS

~See, lots of mountains with snow and glaciers there too!~

Anyway, do I need to do a recap? Well, we set out from Islamabad Saturday morning and reached Darosh late Saturday evening and spent the night at army headquarters and with the myseterious insect thing that squeaks like a baby mouse.

DAY TWO
15th July, 2012
Sunday
-------------------
Today, I got up around seven o'clock and quickly got out of that room and went to the other room where my father and my other siblings were sleeping and then I did the only thing to pass the time. Played games on my phone. Dragon's Blade to be exact... ^u^

Anyway, let me tell you something. We might have a big tv at home, but it doesn't have cable and no body really watches it. It's just there for our game system and DVD player. So our room DID have a tv with cable to obviously, that was turned on to see what was happening with the world. At that time, the weather reports said that it was pouring in Karachi and also, at that very moment, the boxer Aamir Khan was getting ready to face his opponent.

That WAS interesting news but it didn't really interest me. I'm not a sports fan. And I already had a feeling Aamir was going to lose. Sorry.

When we headed out, we changed cars yet again! Now it was a red Prado!!

~My father's looking at the grapes that are hanging from the tree~

Bundling into the Prado, we started another journey. Although it wasn't AS long, I mean, only two hours I think, it was super bumpy. My younger sister kept complaining that her head and stomach were hurting. I guess she isn't the off-road travel type. But I repeat again, the journey was really bumpy because the roads were unmetalled. There we were climbing up the mountain, then down and then back up but the river never left our sight.

Where was our destination? It was the Kalash valley, the valley of the Kaafirs. We stopped at a PTDC (Pakistan Tourist Developement Corporation) resthouse and wandered around for a while, sighting the first of the many women dressed in the black clothes that marked their religion.

~Inside of the PTDC resteraunt. Oh, it looks nice but it's just okay. Didn't seem to have much of the mystery factor as the other hotel resteraunt had~

After that we went walking up the road where we could see everything up close. Of coarse it all looked pretty normal (for a village) and then we went climbing straight into the Kalash domain and visited their graveyard.

~A casket. They used to leave their dead to rot in the open~

Most of the graveyard had caskets like these with most of the bones missing. Also, most of the bones belonged to the children of the Kalash people. That is sort of freaky, you know, that they have a graveyard full of CHILDREN.

~Here's a closer look! A half skull of a child~

Next, we went climbing up and met a big idol on the way. It was supposed to be used for some ritual of theirs. Or was it for marking a grave? I can't remember that detail. I just remember that it was very ugly.

Climbing on, we met three very lively ducks too!

~Aren't they cute?! I think that is a mother and two growing ducklings~

Right, moving forward. We got to see some of the houses. Only from the outside though and I noticed that most of them had locks on them. My first theory was that maybe they all died of a plague but obviously I was wrong. It turns out they just left on their own little vacations. (^.^)

~Here's their "Hall of Burning People Alive". Nah, just kidding. That's just the ashes of a barbecue party~

That is the hall where they place their dead corpse and then dance around it. It's all part of their ritual. Then they cart off the corpse to rot in their open air graveyard. I think they changed that law. Now they bury their dead instead of leaving them out in the open.

~Look, two idols~

Next we saw those two idols. Those are supposed to be the idols who bring rain. The Kalash people take a goat and slaughter it for them, spill the goat blood everywhere and then feed the meat to the children. That's supposed to bring them rain.

Then we took a detour and sat on the banks of the river. The water was REALLY cold and moved REALLY fast. You couldn't keep your foot in for more than four or five minutes!!

~We crossed that bridge. The other side is where all that Kalash stuff is~

~Met two little girls on the way. One is Kalashi and one is Muslim and they are both friends! (^.^)~

After that, we walked all the way back to the PTDC place and had lunch. Since it was around 2 o'clock, at the sun's zenith, we had to stay there for about an hour till the real heat passed. Travelling in the heat on a bumpy road is not good for either your head or stomach.

~Overall backdrop of the Kalash valley~

After that we went on to Chitral and stayed at the house of an acquaintance. Their house was super cool, even grander than the houses in Islamabad!
